Freight Management

Legacy Freight Management is the freight management division of TAG. We work with senior management to evaluate shipping methods for the purpose of designing and implementing improved freight management programs.

LFM is a ‘non-asset based’ third party logistics firm. We have no proprietary interest in transportation companies or their products. Our revenues are generated solely from our clients and we do not solicit or accept commissions or incentives from carriers. As a result, our client’s best interests are served throughout the carrier selection process and during the performance phase of the contract.

During an initial visit, we develop a thorough understanding
of the client’s current delivery system, including:
• Common Carrier
• Truckload Carrier
• Small Package
• Expedited Service

We coordinate the preparation of LTL bid packages, evaluate carrier responses, make recommendations on selection, and prepare the contract documents.

LFM provides freight bill audit and payment services because many companies either lack the in-house resources necessary to understand the carriers’ invoice, or they simply find the audit process too time-consuming. We make any necessary corrections and send a weekly batch of approved freight invoices to our clients thereby eliminating the headache of vouchering individual invoices, matching bills of lading, verifying weights, checking for rating errors, etc.

In addition, we provide weekly cost allocation reports, tailored to your specifications with G/L account numbers, if needed, and monthly carrier activity reports.
